Wells Cathedral School Brass Quintet

“Music has been the heart of our community since the school was founded in 909 and the choristers of Wells Cathedral play a central part in our school to this day. Here at Wells we believe that everyone can engage with and appreciate music and that it enriches our lives.”   Mark Stringer, WCS Director of Music

Today WCS is a thriving, multi-cultural, co-educational school with committed pupils in all areas of school life including academia, sport, drama, music and community service.

The WCS Brass Department, headed by Paul Denegri, has received international and national recognition for the high quality of its instrumental and ensemble tuition. For over 30 years this musically vibrant and highly regarded department has forged a close association with the current music industry and prides itself on its ability to enable its pupils to be successful young musicians in the twenty-first century.

The members of the WCS Brass Quintet are all specialist musicians at Wells.  Three of them are currently members of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

The ensemble looks forward to presenting a fun, feel-good and foot-tapping programme that will make you smile. The repertoire they have chosen is also very impressive and challenging to play!  This promises to be a lovely evening, set within a magical rural idyll.

Tickets: Pay what you can (minimum £12), including wine and canapés. Please overwrite the £12 figure below if you feel you can contribute a little more to the Young Musicians Fund.
