Born in Wigan, Chris Chapman began his illustrious photographic career at Newport College of Art in South Wales, before moving to Dartmoor in 1975. His photographs reflect the traditional skills inherent in the indigenous population of Dartmoor and emphasise the accumulation of knowledge associated with age and customs. His photography has been widely recognised and is represented in both public and private collections, including Victoria & Albert Museum, London, Arts Council of England and International Center of Photography in New York.
