The Lutosławski Duo makes a welcome return to the Festival. They are firmly in the forefront of leading exponents of the two piano repertoire and their past concerts here have always been a sell-out. Their programme is inspired by the history of Witold Lutosławski and Andrzej Panufnik who, during the Second World War, performed their own piano transcriptions of well-known works in the famous restaurants and piano bars of Warsaw, which at the time was occupied by Nazi Germany.
