Continuing the Lieder theme from the previous day, pianist Joseph Middleton joins Mark Padmore and Richard Watkins for this inspired programme of Beethoven, Schubert and two of Benjamin Britten’s five Canticles.
Mark has established an international career in opera, concert and recital. His appearances in Bach Passions have gained particular notice especially his acclaimed performances as Evangelist in the St Matthew and St John Passions with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle, staged by Peter Sellars.
Richard Watkins was Principal Horn of the Philharmonia Orchestra for 12 years. He is currently a member of the Nash Ensemble and a founder member of London Winds.
